Simmi Mookerjee

Assistant Professor Simmi Mookerjee teaches Accounting in the First Year core MBA program. Her research interests relate broadly to managers’ discretion in accounting method and disclosure choices, including firms’ roles in a broader societal context. This includes activities and disclosures relating to environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) issues, including the political economy and firm human capital.
Prior to joining Darden in 2023, Mookerjee received her Ph.D. in accounting at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. She has also held positions in accounting at American Century Companies and the Lockton Company, and worked as an auditor at Ernst & Young.
