Rohit Singla is a Senior Research Data Scientist at Darden. His research interest lies at the intersection of big data, advanced computing, and quantitative methods. He works on designing and developing new quantitative research methods and databases for business and financial research. In addition, he manages the Darden Research Data Lab, a cloud-based platform he founded to support quantitative research.
Rohit has published his research in reputed peer-reviewed international journals such as Critical Finance Review, Journal of Agricultural & Resource Economics and Journal of Agrobiotechnology Management & Economics. In addition, his quantitative research methods contributions have been acknowledged in top-rated finance and business journals such as Journal of Accounting Research, Management Science, Journal of Financial Economics, and National Bureau of Economic Research.
Prior to joining UVA Darden, Rohit managed and directed the Research Computing Office of Ross School of Business at Michigan. In addition, he taught a course in financial research data management and computing to the PhD students. He has also served as a Research Statistician at Carroll School of Management at Boston College.
Rohit holds a PhD in Applied Economics with a minor in Information Systems and Quantitative Sciences from Texas Tech University. He has also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at McGill University in Montreal.
