JR Hipple is a seasoned communications and leadership advisor, with a track record of assisting executives navigate complex challenges in both the private and public sector. With more than three decades of experience, he offers expertise in strategic planning, corporate communications, research, and PR, which he applies to managing both brand-reputation campaigns and intricate organizational issues.
His specialty lies in understanding the pulse of stakeholders—whether customers, employees, communities, investors, or government entities—helping organizations to flourish. His approach invariably starts from within, delving into the mission, core values, and culture of a business. From there, he crafts impactful strategies and compelling narratives to reach target audiences.
As the founder and leader of successful consulting agencies, Hipple understands the importance of nurturing high-performing, values-based cultures. He passionately advocates for corporate social responsibility and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I), driving community engagement initiatives and spearheading corporate culture change programs that have garnered national recognition.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Hipple is dedicated to community service, serving on boards such as the Community Foundation of Greater Richmond, the Center for Ethics and Corporate Responsibility, and PRSA Counselors Academy. He also co-founded and served as president of the Richmond Sports Backers, a prominent organization in regional sports commissions.
A dedicated writer and speaker, Hipple shares his insights on current business trends and issues at industry and professional gatherings. Since 2014, he has been fortunate to serve as an adjunct instructor and guest lecturer at Darden, contributing to the development of future business leaders.
Outside of work, Hipple and his wife reside in the Charlottesville area, where they enjoy exploring hiking trails, supporting UVA sports, attending the Virginia Film Festival, and sampling wines from the region's wineries. Hipple is also an avid swimmer and enthusiastic golfer.
