Co-founders, Rhoback
Matt and Kristina Loftus (MBA '16 and MBA '17) co-founded Rhoback in partnership with Kevin Hubbard in 2016, and the high-end lifestyle and sportswear brand has been a hit from the start.
Rhoback, inspired by the Rhodesian Ridgeback, a dog breed that, as Kristina Loftus described in a 2017 UVAToday interview, “is always craving activity. You don’t have to be a supreme athlete to wear Rhoback; you can just be thinking about playing tennis or golf, craving that active lifestyle.”
“We think the UVA community is everything,” Kristina said in 2023, adding that the Darden community played an important role in the company’s success. “And then, just Charlottesville, it’s such a beautiful town, such a beautiful place to live. We came here and we didn’t want to leave.
From signature UVA prints launched in 2023, to its “Rhoback U” NIL program, the company has been expanding fast, with a constant stream of new prints and partnerships.
