Mariel Furlong
Career Consultant, Executive Coach
Mariel began her career as a journalist and believes deeply in helping people understand their own stories, navigate the plot twists that come their way and envision what future chapters may look like. Her coaching style is optimistic and action-oriented, and her perspective is grounded in experience working across industries (tech, media, life sciences, non-profit), functions (corporate strategy, consulting, marketing), modalities (hardware, software, B2B, B2C) and levels of leadership.
She is currently a commercial strategy leader within Google's hardware business. She began her career as a journalist for National Geographic magazine and earned her MBA in Darden's class of 2013. Upon graduation, she worked in management consulting before making her way to Google. In her almost 10 years at Google, she has held roles in corporate strategy, product marketing and as a chief of staff.
Mariel resides in New Jersey with her husband and three small children. In her free time, she enjoys connecting others, improv and stand-up comedy, and hiking. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism & mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
